JOHN KAY - Great-great-great-great-grandfather of our Senior (7th) generation

John Kay (1st generation) is believed to have been a weaver from Yorkshire. He married Mary Collins who was born in 1750, at St Andrew by the Wardrobe, London on September 22nd 1774. His burial is recorded as being on January 2nd 1780 at St Anne, Soho, London. John and Mary had at least three sons. Their second was Charles Samuel Morris Kay, who was born on March 17th 1779 and baptised on April 4th 1779 at St Anne's, Soho, London. Charles Samuel Morris was apprenticed to a Collins on October 2nd 1793, who may have been related to his mother.

CHARLES SAMUEL MORRIS KAY - Great-great-great--grandfather of our Senior (7th) generation

Charles Samuel Morris Kay (2nd generation) married Mary Conen on 12th November 1800 at St Bride's, Fleet Street, London and had four children, three of whom provided the family lines that we have today: Charles (born March 24th 1805), emigrated to Australia with his family and whose descendents are now well established there; Samuel (born March 6th 1808) from whom our Present Generation has descended; Sarah (baptised March 21st 1813); and William (baptised June 17th 1815), whose family branch has descended parallel to our own.

Mary Conen was born 6th October 1778 and baptised on 28th October 1778 at St Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury, London. She died around 1835 or later. .
More is known of Mary's lineage than of Mary herself.
